Blanca Leticia (NDG Mom) has four children. Most of them have studied since pre-k with Ninos de Guatemala. Her Older daughter Naydelin graduated from Nuestro Futuro High School and was part of the Certification Program in Hotel Management. By being a student with Honors she achieved a job as Head of Housekeeping in one of our partner hotels. Thanks to the help of Niños de Guatemala and the Hospitality Certification, Naydelin created an international friendship that has helped her find additional job opportunities for her friends, her family, and for herself.
Brenda (NDG mom) started her time with Ninos de Guatemala when the organization decided to build a second primary school in San Lorenzo El Cubo; she has three children. Her oldest son was one of the first students to graduate from El Porvenir Middle School.
When we sat down with Blanca and Brenda, we couldn´t stop feeling emotional about the love that they have for our schools. They both reflected on their trajectory throughout their school years with their children since El Porvenir opened its school doors in 2012. They are both aware and grateful for the immense positive differences that our schools offer in comparison to public schools in the area.
“My daughter Naydelin started pre-k in a public school and she really disliked it, they would always create unnecessary trouble for her and make her feel uncomfortable. When we decided to look for other schools we saw a big difference and positive impact it had on her well-being. On the day of Naydelin’s High School graduation, she was awarded recognition for her academic performance throughout the year, as an honor roll student. And I felt so proud and happy!” -Blanca
