Nurturing Guardianship: Insights from Our "School for Parents" Workshop

In our ongoing commitment to holistic education, we’re excited to share the enriching experience of our recent “School for Parents” workshop. This month’s session delved into a crucial topic – “Strangers Danger.”

Strangers Danger has been one of the projects where we prepare teachers, administrative staff, and families.

Our dedicated social worker and psychologist teamed up to facilitate an insightful discussion, providing parents with a safe and open environment to explore the complexities of protecting their children from potential risks outside the school gates.

The workshop encouraged active participation, allowing parents to ask questions, share concerns, and gain practical insights into safeguarding their children. Our experts shed light on adequate strategies and communication techniques to empower parents in navigating this critical aspect of parenting.

At Niños de Guatemala, we believe in equipping parents with the knowledge and tools they need to create a protective shield around their children. From understanding the signs of potential danger to fostering open communication at home, the workshop aimed to empower every parent in our community.

The learnings from “School for Parents” extend far beyond our school walls, fostering a sense of community and connection among our parents. Through shared experiences and open dialogue, parents not only gain valuable insights into child-rearing practices but also forge lasting bonds with one another. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration and support in nurturing the next generation of leaders and changemakers within our Niños de Guatemala family.

Our commitment to holistic education extends to our teachers, who play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. As part of the “Strangers Danger” program, teachers were empowered with knowledge and resources to protect our students

Together, we watched a thought-provoking movie and engaged in meaningful discussions to develop better protocols and strategies for safeguarding our school community. Through this comprehensive approach, we empower teachers, students, and families alike to create a safe and nurturing environment for all.
