The People That Inspire Us The Most

Niños de Guatemala / Education  / The People That Inspire Us The Most

This month we had the opportunity to sit down with some of our sixth graders: They talked about their dreams, the people that inspire them, and their plans for the future. Most of them have been part of the NDG family since they were five years old. Anderson, Jorge, Astrid, Mariana, and Aaron,  were excited to share their stories and memories as we toured around the school.

Question: What has been your favorite experience in all your years at school?

Jorge: Recess.

(Everybody laughs)

Astrid: The opportunity to learn more and now we have more time to practice and study at school.

Anderson: To have teachers who have the patience to teach and help us understand, all of that will help us in the future.

Question: What is your favorite class?

Everybody: Math class.

Anderson: Teacher Oscar is our assigned teacher and he helps us with all our different classes and subjects.

Mariana: He is always looking for fun activities so we can learn, he usually teaches us outside the classroom so we never get bored being indoors only.

Question: What would you like to be when you grow up?

Mariana: A doctor.

Astrid: A doctor.

Jorge: A doctor.

Anderson: An accountant.

Aaron: A mechanic.

Question: This year you graduate from Sixth grade, what advice would you give to the kids of first grade and kindergarten?

Astrid: To keep studying hard.  Attending Ninos de Guatemala is a big opportunity for all of us to have a better life. This opportunity is being offered to us by our teachers, our families, and all donors.

Anderson: To take advantage of the opportunity the school offers because it can really help them in life.

Aaron: To fight for their dreams, so they can become successful.

Question: So we are doing very well, and now I want you to take a moment before you answer the next question… How would you describe the school?

Aaron: A safe place to learn.

Anderson: A place where we can learn, become better people, and open new doors of knowledge towards the world and nature.

Question: And now for our last question, who is the person who inspires you the most?

Aaron: Teacher Oscar!

Astrid: Teacher Oscar!

Mariana: Teacher Oscar!

Jorge: Teacher Oscar!

(Everybody laughs)

Anderson: Teacher Oscar and all my family,  have always supported me.
